The Number 6 is the historic Palazzo Valperga Galleani a stone's throw from Piazza San Carlo that Piero Boffa's Building Group has transformed into an avant-garde contemporary condominium. The redevelopment project was awarded by ArchDaily as Building of the Year 2015.
The Number 6 was conceived to give back to the ancient Palazzo Valperga Galleani, the intrinsic vocation of a prestigious residence and noble "income building", which during the 17th and 18th centuries dictated the most significant transformations still legible and recoverable today as architectural facies of the whole area. The building built in 1663 by Maurizio Valperga, and enlarged in 1781 by Michele Luigi Barberis, has in fact undergone profound transformations over the centuries both in form and in the intended use. Palazzo Valperga Galleani is today a building with multiple interpretations: from architecture to art, from modern functionality to well-being.
