Cotto d'Este revealed Pura at Cersaie 2022

During the new edition of Cersaie, Cotto d’Este revealed Pura in an exclusive world premier and was awarded with the ADI Ceramics and Bathroom Design Award.

Inspired by stone, limestone in particular, the new Cotto d’Este collection is a hymn to naturalness, to balance and to measure as instruments for an elegant and delicately expressive result. The background texture, characterised by a grain structure typical of limestone, is combined with a refined movement generated by nuances and changes in tone, to give life to an extremely complete series, including 14 mm thick stoneware, 20 mm outdoor stoneware and the excellence of Kerlite, the large ultra-thin slabs, crowning achievement of the Cotto d’Este proposal.

The extensive knowledge of the materials and ongoing research for innovative solutions, together with a true vocation for beauty tout court, make Pura an outstanding choice for designers searching for indoor and outdoor floor covering solutions that are limitless and borderless. The three thicknesses, indeed, make it possible to conceive designs with a seamless continuity between indoor and outdoor spaces, for an extremely refined total look characterised by a profound interpretation of minimalism that relinquishes extraneous details so as to create a more holistic aesthetic, aimed at promoting a sense of balance and well-being.

Additionally, during Cersaie, the Pura collection of Cotto d’Este received the Special Mention of the prestigious ADI Ceramics and Bathroom Design Award for the depth of range, obtained through a perfect coordination of different production technologies, thus providing a homogeneous collection of integrated supports, formats and thicknesses”.

The collection offers 4 nuances: Ivory, conjuring up the warm almond colour, between beige and ivory; Sand, a light grey warmed by hazelnut and dove tones; Pearl, a light grey with a vibrant tone and lastly, Grey, a medium grey with a decisively neutral tone.

The finishes, always a result of thorough research by Cotto d’Este, are a further ingredient of technological excellence. With Pura, in fact, Cotto d’Este presents - for the tiles with Rolled finish in 14 mm - the Safetouch technology, where the safety of maximum slip-resistance and zero surface roughness are combined. A collection that is soft to the touch, with easy cleaning and maintenance, and perfect for a wide variety of uses: whether or not these spaces are residential or public, indoors or outdoors. Indeed, the special material used to make it consists of vitreous microgranules.
Thanks to their very small particle size, the resulting surface lacks the distinct roughness characteristic of traditional non-slip finishes, making them not as soft to the touch and complicating cleaning and maintenance. On the contrary, at a micro level that is not perceptible to the touch, the surface retains irregularities that effectively protect users from slipping. As if that were not enough, the technology is incorporated into the production process of the ceramic material and remains effective for the whole life of the product, without its features in any way influencing the product’s performance, which maintains the highest aesthetic standards and attention to detail.

If the 14 mm products have both variants, the Honed – lapped, coated – and Rolled – a surface that is extremely soft to the touch, simple to maintain and easily cleanable but with non-slip performance worthy of a Grip surface – those in Kerlite 6plus have the new Chiseled finish with a strongly material texture yet not rough or prone to getting dirty and perfectly assimilated to the chisel processes typical of stones. Finally, for the variants in 20 mm, Pura is offered in a rough and structured surface – Hammered – reminiscent of a bush-hammering effect.

Guaranteed for 20 years, Pura is made even safer through the PROTECT® technology, a system that guarantees surface hygiene and maximum protection thanks to an antibacterial shield with silver ions embedded in the tiles, which eliminates up to 99.9% of bacteria from the surface.

The extensive the range, the ultra-resistance, the possibility of combining large Kerlite slabs with products having 14 mm and 20 mm thicknesses, and last but not least, the sophisticated aesthetic, make Pura a collection with enormous design potential.
