On occasion of the 2024 edition of the Archiproducts Design Awards, which celebrate excellence in international design, Arketipo by Cotto d’Este won the Sustainability Award. The awards were assigned by an international jury made up of some of the world’s most renowned architects, designers, journalists, architectural photographers, and creative directors, who acknowledged and celebrated the value of those projects which conveyed reliability while pushing creative boundaries.
Arketipo by Cotto d’Este won the Sustainability Award, with eco-design and sustainability experts praising its beauty – achieved through a highly virtuous and sustainable production process – and the adherence of its ultra-thin 6.5 mm slabs to the THINk ZERO project. However, the real accolades were for the collection’s commitment to sustainability in all of its thicknesses. Leading the way are the over-sized, ultra-thin slabs, the brand’s flagship product, manufactured through an exclusive technological process that significantly reduces energy consumption and emissions. In fact, in the case of Kerlite 6plus, emissions are fully offset through participation in international sustainable mobility projects. But that’s not all. Cotto d’Este’s 14 mm slabs also demonstrate the brand’s dedication to sustainability, featuring an exclusive process that uses natural elements, incorporates 40% recycled materials, recovers 100% of production water, reduces waste, and boasts a nearly 100% recycling rate.
“We’re immensely proud to have received this award once again. Arketipo is the result of over 30 years of extensive experience and fully embodies the essence of Cotto d’Este: a perfect blend of modernity and tradition, craftsmanship and industrial technology, aesthetics and performance. Having our commitment to creating an environmentally responsibility product recognised with the Sustainability Award is an incredible honour and inspires us to continue looking toward the future and innovating the world of ceramics and architecture,” stated Bruno Buratti, brand manager for Cotto d’Este.
